Nine batches of Coca-Cola unqualified products were returned.
Another batch of imported products entered the blacklist. Recently, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China （AQSIQ） announced the information of unqualified foods and make ups which have been imported in June 2016, 26 batches of beverage including Coca-Cola entered the list, by the reason of using addictive out of scope, the certificates did not conform to goods, etc. Nine batches of products all came from America.
It is learned that the nine batches of products is imported by Shenzhen Lanka Industrial Co., Ltd., and the manufacture is Coca-Cola Company. In addition, the disqualified reason is using benzoic acid out of scope, and all of them have been returned.
Benzoic acid is a chemosynthetic preservative, it can restrain the bleeding of mould and yeast in foods in a certain condition. In order to meet to needs of consumers’ low-salt demand, a few of enterprises reduce salt content, increase the usage of benzoic acid to control bacteria bleeding. It will cause the gastrointestinal function and blood Ph imbalance by long-term intaking.
In fact, it is not the first time that Coca-Cola entered the unqualified list, just in last month, in the unqualified imported food list announced by AQSIQ， there were two another batches of Coca-cola sarsaparilla aerated water were returned because of addicting benzoic acid out of scope.
To the returning issue, Coca-Cola China told Beijing Business Today journalist that they did not know about the details because it is importer’s behavior.
